Voices of Wrestling has hosted a Match of the Year poll and countdown since 2013. In that time, we have become the preeminent media-voted Match of the Year countdown between fans, wrestlers, and those in pro wrestling management. Please read the contents and rules before voting.

If you work with a wrestling website, network, YouTube channel, or any other pro wrestling media venture, please pass this ballot link to your colleagues and strongly encourage them to participate. We aim for this poll to be as diverse as possible, with many different viewpoints and perspectives on the global world of pro wrestling.
Do keep in mind, though, that this is a media-only poll.

Rules
Our interactive ballot is pre-populated with data from 0 different promotions and freelance shows worldwide, with a total of 49,723 matches eligible for voting. There is also the ability to vote for matches not listed in the database, but with so many shows and promotions in there, we hope it won't come to that.
Regarding freelance shows, there is a section at the bottom of the promotion dropdown with a group of regions. Please select the region where the show took place and the date it aired/took place. The matches will then appear for selection from that show and any other in the region on that day.
We are going by the airdate for the matches, so you should be looking for that.
If you attended an AEW Dynamite episode that included an AEW Collision taping and wanted to vote for a match on that episode of Collision, it would appear under the Saturday date or the original airdate, not the Wednesday one.
All data used for the voting form has been scraped from Cagematch.net. Thanks to them for the fantastic resources they provide to this community. If you are unsure which promotion a match might be listed under or what airdate a given show has, it will be listed accordingly there. (Remember that they use the European date/month/year format.)
While the Match of the Year voting form is usable on mobile, we strongly recommend voting on a desktop for a better, more user-friendly experience.
Please use whatever identifier you want us to publicize in the name box. If you'd like us to use your real name, please put that in the box. You may also use a nickname if you would prefer not to have your full name published.

One of the main goals of this project is to raise awareness about the fantastic and diverse work done in this space. We will link to and publicize your website, along with your votes and write-ups, providing an excellent opportunity to attract more attention to your work.

Scoring & Tiebreakers
The order of your match voting is of the utmost importance.
Our scoring system is a weighted balloting system, similar to the one used by Major League Baseball for their Most Valuable Player voting. A first-place vote is worth 14 points, and a descending (9-8-7...) scale follows.
The points for each match on each ballot are then added, with any ties broken in the following order:
- Most total votes
- Match which received the highest singular vote on any ballot
For example, if two matches are tied in points and one match receives more total ballots, the second-step tiebreaker will not be required. The match appearing on more total ballots would place higher.
If two matches are tied in points, and remain tied by appearing on the same number of ballots, the match with the highest singular vote will win the tiebreaker.

We've also added a section after each match selection to summarize why you voted for the match. These are also very important, as your summaries will be used on VoicesofWrestling.com as we count down the list.
Summaries also help people understand why you voted for a particular match, what made the match special, and so on. Match summaries allow readers and followers of Match of the Year to understand and appreciate why a particular match was so special to you. It's a chance to add your personal touch to the countdown.
We recommend you fill out the summaries in a separate document and copy/paste them into our voting form to ensure your work is not lost in the unlikely event of a website issue.
